Partner descriptions are displayed in the “Explore” section of The Portal to Texas History or the UNT Digital Library. The descriptions are a great opportunity for you to connect with users and showcase your institution or yourself. Since you know your institution/yourself best, you can provide the best description possible.
If you’re having trouble getting started with your description, here are some questions you can ask yourself:
For Institutions
- Where is your institution located?
- What is the mission/purpose of your institution?
- What is the history of your institution?
- Does your institution serve or represent a specific group or cause?
- Why did your institution decide to participate in The Portal to Texas History/UNT Digital Library?
- What do you most want readers to understand about your institution?
- Would you like to include a logo or photograph of your institution?
- Do you want to make any acknowledgements?

For Individuals
- What biographical information about yourself do you want to share?
- Birthplace/Texas Roots?
- Career?
- Interests?
- Why did you decide to collect _______?
- How long have you been collecting?
- Why did you decide to participate in The Portal to Texas History/UNT Digital Library?
- What do you most want readers to understand about yourself and your collection(s)?
